Spring is almost here! If you live in Michigan you know what the winter has been like this past year, unpredictable and one snow storm after the other. I know that I am very much looking forward to warmer weather along with more sunshine.
It has been awhile since I last put out a newsletter and my last one was prior to this website with the blogging format. So, instead of emailing out a formal letter of the latest news, I thought I’d put up a post here.
This spring marks the third year that we have had the Dearborn office and this past year has been the busiest and most rewarding yet. With the passing time I am grateful to get to know more members of the community and finally coming to understand what it means to be of service to this area. A big thank you to all of you, whom I’ve had the fortune to work with! Here is the latest news. Click on the titles to access the link and read the full article.
“Mindfulness meditation has been shown to give patients control over their own depression and anxiety levels and levels of chronic pain, according to a paper published earlier this month in the journal Frontiers in Human Neuroscience.”
I included this article as I have often recommended to patients the value of meditation. It is the one thing that everyone can do on a daily basis to help clear their minds and establish the grounds for a healthy relationship to ones own life.
“Studies show that this ancient technique can help reduce the frequency and intensity of chronic headaches, maybe as much or more so than medication.”
It can often be frustrating trying to find solutions for migraines. I have found that with a combination of lifestyle changes, Chinese herbs and acupuncture that relief is obtainable.
Bone Broth Recipe
Mother and Baby
Many people have asked me for my recipe for bone marrow broth. I recommend this often for those who are recovering from a long illness, cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and radiation, mothers who have just given birth and many others. Bone broth is an old Chinese medicine remedy for building blood and qi in weak constitutions. I’ll provide a recipe here as well as a link that can help you prepare your own broth. For convenience, I use a slow cooker. I put all the ingredients in the pot over night on high and by morning, it is ready to drink. Typical dosage is one cup three times a day.
- 2 lbs bones either beef or lamb
- 1 large onion
- 2 to 3 cloves garlic
- 3 to 4 carrots
- 3 to 4 celery stalks
- enough water to just below rim of pot
- salt to taste
Put all ingredients into pot. Let simmer over night on high. In the morning skim off fat with a spoon. Strain liquid and add salt to taste. For more information you can click on this link;
Springtime is perfect for shedding those extra pounds and regaining our health. I have included here a PDF for a greens fast that I give to those who are looking to reset their digestive system and improve their overall wellbeing. It is difficult to follow but the rewards are well worth the trouble. Click on the link below to download the file.
If you have any questions about it feel free to contact me. It is safe for most people but of course it is not a replacement for sound medical advice from your physician. I have seen many wonderful things happen with this fast. People have reported less allergies, complete digestive restoration, improved sleep and many others.
